I’m Derek Floyd, M.A.
I’ve been securing grant dollars for amazing causes for over a decade. After earning my Master of Arts in Nonprofit Leadership and Management at the University of San Diego, in 2014 I founded Writing for Good. Instead of only working as a fundraising staffer for only one organization, I wanted to help even more nonprofits get sustainable grant funding.
An expertly crafted grant can make the difference between winning program funding vs receiving a disappointing rejection.
At its core, grant writing isn’t just about including the right facts and figures. Grant writing is about telling a compelling story – one that moves donors to action.
In my grant writing career, I’ve helped incredible organizations win grants to support a wide range of programs. This includes grants for arts and culture, food security, foster youth services, child abuse prevention, fighting human trafficking, and veterans services.
